Chris Taylor's background involves work as a lawyer, and an educator. After
graduating from law school in her native Oklahoma, Chris worked as a lawyer
in state government, private practice, and for a legal aid society in both
Oklahoma and Tennessee. She was also an adjunct instructor of law, and later
was an assistant professor and coordinator of a college paralegal studies
program. Chris and her family moved to Arizona eight years ago, and her
volunteer work with schools began. These efforts included the writing of
grants in support of both teachers, and librarians. She has been recognized
by several schools for her volunteerism.
Writing has always been a great interest for Chris. She has written a variety
of works from poetry published by a local arts commission, to numerous
legal materials including a handbook to assist legal aid clients understand
their rights. Chris created and presented two college courses that were
video taped, and offered as for-credit classes. Eager to learn more about the
publishing and marketing side of writing, she worked as a bookseller in both
large, corporate and small, independent bookstores. It was through that work
that met Linda Radke of Five Star Publications, and was encouraged by her
to write a book on teacher grants. Granted! A Teacher's Guide To Writing &
Winning Classroom Grants was the result of that meaning.
Chris continues writing at her home in Arizona where she lives with her
husband, two children, three dogs, and numerous fish. She loves to read a
wide variety of fiction, and still takes time to write grants for local teachers,
and schools.
