~~~About The Author~~~
Jane Baskin leads a double life. By day, she is a clinical social worker, wandering the minds of the mad, the bad and the totally unbelievable that are often found in mental health clinics and bad neighborhoods. Any other time, she can be found at her faithful laptop, spinning wild tales that cannot be denied, which are often inspired by her nefarious daytime life. She says, " Think about it. How can you do the work I do and not go crazy yourself?"
In her youth, she was a features reporter for the Boston TAB. The income from this occupation helped put her through graduate school. She recalls, "Then when I got my degree, I actually went into social work. To this day, I can't imagine what I was thinking. I should have stayed in journalism."
Baskin accepts that much of life is error. But she also believes deeply in the creative power of the mistakes we make, the twists of fate that result, and the fabulous maneuvers we execute to keep on keeping on.
~~~About The Book~~~
"JANE OF THE JUNGLE is about a woman who, boxed into a corner, finds a way not only to escape, but to live as deeply as never before." Baskin is a fervent proponent of what she calls Life 2.0, which is the idea that the last half of life can be every bit as powerful as the first.
