"AN ENDEARING MEMOIR OF PASSION, LOVE AND INSPIRATION THROUGH LIFE'S JOURNEY!"

Don Volk penned an endearing memoir, dedicated to his family and friends with admiration, respect and inspiration to all readers. The author's autobiography captures his incredible journey through life as a Military Pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, one remarkable man who served his country through three wars, pursued a career with the Professional Golf Association and shares his compassion about unconditional love for the special women in his life, who filled his heart with hope for the future. Don Volk shares with the reader his precious memories of what he learned from his parents as he grew up on a farm in Utah, what he learned about mechanical devices and engines which led him to a distinguished career with the U.S. Army Air Corps, how he began to serve his country at age eighteen, and the passion he had for golf. One man who drove tractors, then flew airplanes, while serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He conveys the compassion he had for Petie, Sandy, and Wandi through life's trials-and-tribulations. Three women in his life, who encouraged him to reach for the stars, and follow his dreams. One of the greatest accomplishments in the author's life is not about his personal achievements. Instead, it's about inspiring others to walk the many roads through life with persistence, hope, and faith. One man who tells his story about dedication and hard work as he followed the footsteps of his parents, with respect for life, and unconditional love. One man who served his country almost twenty-four years, gave over thirty years to the PGA, and inspires today's youth to follow their dreams as he did. "TRACTORS, PLANES, GOLF & DAMES: A Memoir By Don Volk" is filled with inspiration, motivation, and compassion.

~~~AUTHOR BIO~~~
When I meet people, one of the first things they ask is, where are you from? Or, did you grow up in Harrisburg, which is where I currently live. I have a very hard time answering the first question. I was born in Detroit, Michigan, but don't remember it, since I literally only stayed there about a week or so after I was born. I spent most of my life in Washington D.C., Suburban Maryland area until the age of twelve, when I left home and went to Virginia to attend a boarding school from grade nine to twelve. Every year that I was in boarding school, I came home in the summer to a different city, Washington D.C;Charlotte;North Carolina, and finally Harrisburg, PA. When I tell people that, they often ask if my parents were in the military. I laugh, and say no! My mother was just finding herself. So, where am I from? I have now officially lived in Harrisburg PA longer than anywhere else, so this is home.
I am a single mother of three. I once read that children bring our subconscious issues into life. They show us the parts of us that we need to heal. My children have always been my inspiration to push myself to get to the next level. I see little pieces of me in each of them, but they have all grown up to have their own distinct personalities. I have worked in the Healthcare industry for over twenty years. I am presently employed for a local Healthcare company, and work in the Information Systems Department. Although I work in it, I am not a 'techie' as most people consider anyone who works in this field. I consider myself to be very analytical, which makes people that I've known for a long time, wonder where all of this creativeness came from all of a sudden. To this, I say it has always been there, just hidden beneath the surface.
I have kept journals as far back as I can remember. I always liked to write, and express myself in writing. I have often been told that I express myself in writing, better than I do verbally. I dabbed in poetry from time-to-time, but have always gravitated more towards music. I am a singer, and have also used that as an outlet for my creative energy. I come from a very musical family. All of our activities usually involve music in some form, or fashion. I still sing in church, as often as possible. However, my writing intensified ten years ago, while going through my divorce. It was a way for me to express myself, without exposing what was really going on inside of me. At one point, I allowed a close friend to read some of what I wrote and they commented that I had a very unique way of writing and expressing myself, they encouraged me to continue to write.
5 Star REVIEW~~"FAR EAST OF THE SUN" Author Janina Stankiewicz Chung
AMAZON'S MOST HELPFUL FAVORABLE REVIEW
~Amazon Vine Voice~
Geraldine Ahearn:"Author Geri Ahearn"
"INCREDIBLE DETERMINATION TO SURVIVE THROUGH LOVE, COURAGE AND STRENGTH!"
One can only imagine the extraordinary suffering that took place, while living under Communist oppression and becoming a prisoner to horrific concentration camps. After viewing heart-wrenching movies about Hitler, his soldiers, and what happened to millions of innocent victims is beyond comprehension. The 'hell on earth' as perfectly described as the Holocaust leaves an aftermath in the lives of survivors of a nightmare lived through the worst evil humanity marked in history. Janina Stankiewicz Chung deserves the utmost respect to voice her painful experience to the world, a terrifying reminder of a personal journey in the battle for survival, under the most deplorable conditions known to mankind. The author describes the cold, harsh reality of prison, starvation, and abuse. She not only captures the horror and cruelty that swept through concentration camps, during this dark chapter in history, but conveys how unconditional love became the power of faith and perseverance to survive. The love between Sasha and Anya that they passed on to their family was the strength they held together through the trials-and-tribulations to live. I highly recommend this novel to contemporary historical lovers, and teachers. The story is deeply moving, compelling, educational, and inspiring. Janina Stankiewicz Chung defines hardship, rage, and fear through the lives of one family who found a miracle to escape. This tragic story that depicts the terror, brutality and humiliation endured through the lives of one family determined to survive, along with the author's testament about courage is indeed a worthy addition to the literature of the Holocaust. This book is powerful and tugs at the heart as the characters come to life. The descriptive, breathtaking story would make for a magnificent movie, based on overwhelming conditions in a horrific time period. This novel will leave an impression that will last for a lifetime through one story that's never to be forgotten. "FAR EAST OF THE SUN" is as captivating as Steven Spielberg's SURVIVORS OF THE HOLOCAUST.
5 Star REVIEW~~"MERRYWEATHER LODGE:Ancient Revenge" Author Pauline Holyoak
"ONE CREEPY BONE-CHILLING THRILLER THAT WILL LEAVE YOU ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT!"
Emily is anxious to visit her aunt and uncle at their cozy cottage, located in the lush English countryside. During her visit, Emily is invited to sleep in the attic. Within a few minutes after her aunt brought her to her room, Emily felt a strange presence behind her, wondering if the experience was simply due to an overtired mind on an exhausting day of travel. As she tried to brush off the events that took place the night before, new events began to torment Emily the next day. What did she see in the mirror, was the doll still sitting on the rocking chair, and why did Wooky hiss and scratch Emily? Who turned the Eliss Family portrait upside down, and what was Emily's first impression of John McArthur? What did Emily feel when she shook hands with Jonathan, and did Emily's curiosity about the woodlot upset her aunt? What was chasing Emily and her aunt through the woods that made Emily extremely apprehensive? Who put the doll in Emily's bed? As Emily found herself terrified and trembling, did the mystery that she found have something to do with her? Was Emily hallucinating, or did a ghost hiss at her as a putrid smell filled the room? Did anyone believe Emily, or did they all think that Emily was having nightmares? I highly recommend this spine-tingling novel to all thriller and mystery lovers, who enjoy intense suspense, with a blend of romance and humor. Pauline Holyoak becomes a Master storyteller as she fills each page with love, magic, and horror. The reader is invited to take an unforgettable roller-coaster ride as you witness the same terror as if viewing Hitchcock in his classic tradition. Does Emily become a target by mysterious spirits, while she's determined to unlock hidden secrets? The author paints each page with fantasy, colorful characters, and haunting events that would light up a movie screen. When Emily returns years later to find out the answers, who will be seeking revenge, and does Jonathan guide her in a dangerous mission? "MERRYWEATHER LODGE: Ancient Revenge" is as scary as THE GLASS HOUSE, as mesmerizing as EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, and as gripping as DON'T SAY A WORD, with Michael Douglas.
While most Americans know of the atrocities of World War II through films such as HOLOCAUST, SOPHIE'S CHOICE, and SCHINDLER'S LIST, Janina Stankiewicz Chung simply knows. Her family endured life under Communist oppression in Russia, forced relocation to Hitler's hellish Concentration camps, and the sorrow of losing their homeland.
'FAR EAST OF THE SUN' is a remarkable love story, inspired by the deep and enduring love of her parents, their passionate belief in the dignity of all people, and their remarkable courage that sustained them throughout their tumultuous lives. A novel rich in character, and action-packed drama. 'FAR EAST OF THE SUN' is both a powerful moral saga, and living proof of the power of unconditional love.
~~~AUTHOR BIO~~

I grew up in Southeast England, in a coal mining village my husband calls, 'The place that time forgot!' It is nested between the notorious city of Canterbury and the medieval town of Dover. I came to Canada as a nanny when I was twenty-one in search of adventure, and a new life. I live in Spruce, Alberta with my sports crazy husband, adorable dog, and cantankerous ginger cat.

As far back as I can remember, the pen and paper have been my faithful companions, and story telling my forte. As a child I would sneak away from a mundane adult world, find a private retreat, usually behind the garden shed, and imagine. There in my own little sanctuary, I'd conjure up all kinds of intriguing tales, and colorful characters. In my teen years, my journal became my confidence,  revealing all my hidden secrets, private fantasies and wild notions within its pages. Later I started to write poems, articles and short stories, and pondered the thought of becoming a writer.

When I immigrated to Canada, I buried my dreams under layers of real life clutter. I chose a safe and practical career in child care, married, and raised a family. But my creative spirit kept trying to dig its way out. I was asked to write articles and editorials for our local church. I taught a story time class at the school, which lead me to writing a children's book. I wrote an article about my husband's prestigious grandfather, and sent it to our local newspaper. They printed it. I kept sending them articles, they kept printing them. I was surprised at the compliments I received from the editor, and readers. It was evident to me then, that I had excavated my creative spirit.

I decided to take a comprehensive writing course to improve my technique. With help from a proficient and supportive tutor, who told me I had a gift, I began to cultivate my skill. My articles started to sell, and I received an assignment from a major Canadian magazine. I have spent the past few years working on my novel MERRYWEATHER LODGE-Ancient Revenge, a trilogy, and two children's books. I have a diploma in creative writing, along with a certificate, complementing my creative skills. I have a boundless imagination, and a wealth of experience to draw from.

5 Star REVIEW~~"SILENT SCREAMS from the HAMPTONS" Author CHRISTA JAN RYAN

"A BEACON OF HOPE!"

A young, innocent child is born. She is trusting, caring, and curious. Before she could learn about childhood happiness, meeting new friends, and social events, her entire world is turned inside out. She is forced to grow up overnight with the responsibility of being caretaker for her mother and sisters as she faces humiliation on the outside, while coping with an extremely dysfunctional family, behind closed doors. The youngest of six children becomes traumatized with hidden horrors as her little eyes can only see chaos, abuse, and addiction. While constantly striving to survive, her world becomes darker and much worse, before she finds a way out. She lived in everyday intense turmoil, insanity, and violence, while desperately attempting to ward off the demons. As she grew older, still searching for answers, she finds herself thriving in the same type of environment from where she grew up. Her childhood memories became nightmares of alcoholism, rape, and eating disorders with the painful reminder of what tomorrow may bring. To make matters worse, while suffering from childhood trauma, she finds herself in a toxic relationship of her own, but begins to see the light before her mother's passing. She holds on tight to a thin rope, while burying her fear of change and finds not only the courage to survive, but the burning desire to help others. Her beacon of hope is the bright light to the candle that Christa Jan Ryan has lit, which will remain burning until eternity, because it sends a message of strength to all those who have not yet seen the light. The heart-wrenching story told from one brave woman who came forward as she reaches out to others with inspiration, instead of sweeping the horrors under the carpet, not only tells the world about her spiritual awakening, but also her heroic escape. The message she gives is one of peace and hope, that if she could find a new beginning after being emotionally abandoned and physically and mentally abused, so can any person who is still living in a traumatized world. I highly recommend this book to all those who are searching for inspirational stories that encourage enlightment, hope, and guidance. The touching story will make you laugh and cry as the author begins to bury the nightmares, while embracing self-love on the road to success. The story is powerfully moving as a crisis in one woman's life sends her on a healing journey that not only repairs old wounds, but one that helps others to walk on the same path. Christa Jan Ryan shows others that there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel through her own compelling story, filled with motivation, and courage. "SILENT SCREAMS from the HAMPTONS" is as compelling as 28DAYS, as touching as THE COLOR PURPLE and as emotional as SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY, with Julia Roberts.

5 Star REVIEW~~"OLIVER'S TALE" Author PAUL A. IBBETSON

AMAZON'S MOST HELPFUL, FAVORABLE REVIEW!

"COURAGE OVERCOMES CORRUPTION IN THE BATTLE FOR FREEDOM!"

Oliver Surefoot was raised in a loving, caring family. He was taught, along with his brothers what the true meaning of morals and values are. As a young boy, Oliver had many good qualities, and his curiosity and way of thinking made him different from his brothers. Tom-Tom was strong like his dad and Jiffy was simply adorable, but Oliver was patient, intelligent, and compassionate. Although he never realized how strong he really was, his faith in God helped him to pass a test in life that he would never forget, as much as the reader will never forget Oliver. Three Fingers Cove consisted of many families that bonded together in love, happiness, friendship, and harmony. Then one day, that harmony turns into a nightmare, where love turned to fear, and changed the lives of all who lived there forever. This compelling story is a mirror image of what our future may hold, the doubts and mistrust we don't speak of and a reflection of the country we live in, filled with trials-and-tribulations. What would have happened to Oliver if he didn't believe in himself, or had no spiritual growth? Was it his faith that helped him to survive? Paul A. Ibbetson takes the reader on an emotional roller-coaster ride from the country to the city as we are introduced to unforgettable characters who come to life, while witnessing love, hatred, and sacrifice. Tippy Top was the beautiful home for its residents that made Three Fingers Cove a world to be proud of, until destruction and evil invaded peace and tranquility. Oliver was forced to walk on the road of faith, while facing many challenges, and life-threatening situations. I highly recommend this impressive, thrilling adventure to all fiction lovers who enjoy inspiring stories that are combined with politics, love, and war. The author fills the pages with chills, thrills, and drama that explodes from beginning to end. What secret did Sasha hide from Roger? Were the coyotes, foxes, and bobcats more terrifying than the bullies in the Union of the Curly Tail? Who was the worst predator of the forest? What happened to Crom, Grit, and Ruffy? Did the Gray Skunk win the battle, or does he win the war? Who did Ruby create a baby's crib for? What did the dying Opossum tell Oliver, and did this news change Oliver's life? Why did Oliver sneak off to Ladies Foot in the middle of the night, and what did he witness? Who helped to save Jiffy's life, when he suffered illness with a fever? Does Laura fall in love with Oliver? The animals of the Cove join together to defeat the Gray Skunk in the battle of the Great Second War. As good fights evil, Mr. Muskin dies, and a baby boy is born. Who survives the revolution for freedom, and what price did many pay? What brought Oliver and Jiffy to the city as they face the evils of tax-collectors, and dangerous gangs? What did Oliver do with the Roughnecks and the Tang Gang? What predators of the forest became Gray Skunk's killing machines? Where did Oliver hide Jiffy as he formed his own army? What did smelas do to Oliver, how many babies did the Barnabump family lose, and who were the heroes of Tippy Top? Will Three Fingers Cove ever be the same, and what saved Oliver's life as he faced the Gray Skunk face-to-face? "OLIVER'S TALE" is as emotional as THE DEER HUNTER, as entertaining as SAVING PRIVATE RYAN and as thrilling as WE WERE SOLDIERS, with Mel Gibson.

5 Star REVIEW~~"SLINGSHOT" Author MARC DOUGLAS

"A CHILLING, FRIGHTENING, UNRELENTING NIGHTMARE FOR THOSE WHO SURVIVED!"

Inspired by Dean Koontz, Marc Douglas created an incredible science fiction story with an imagination that sends chills up your spine page-after-page. A story based on corrupt governments, hatred, environmental crisis, and people living under difficult circumstances. This compelling story is woven with the elements that many people live with today in order to survive the trials and tribulations that life throws upon us. Genesis offers a new beginning, but what are the people faced with? The author takes the reader through a breathtaking adventure filled with love, war, courage, compassion and brutality. The issue of controlling life, combined with humanity and survival light up each page from beginning to end. Two flights crash on Genesis, which group of survivors are forced to live under a ruthless dictator? How did Leader and Shawna lose their son, and must they go to war? Where was Deak and Rachel escorted to, and did they ever see their son? What were the rules of the Federation, and what criminal acts did they commit? What was Dean and Rachel's only way out, and did Dean's plan work? Were the lives of the board members in the Federation controlled? What did George do to Dean and Rachel, and what happened to George? I highly recommend this compelling novel to all science fiction lovers, who enjoy mesmerizing stories filled with suspense, drama, and a blend of romance. Did the Federation create a clone of Joseph Lightsayer, and what was their motive? Was Joseph killed, or did he survive? Was profit the top priority for the Federation? Did the competition for jobs become another war? How many survived from Starship thirty-three, and how did the survivors aboard flight twenty-nine adapt to their new life? What was the difference between Oxxtown and Castletown? What group did THE PACK not understand, and where were their pups taken to? If the events ever came true as witnessed in this thrilling story, what would our future hold? Where would we go as population increases, environment is destroyed and resources dwindle down to nothing, what would we do to survive? Marc Douglas becomes a Master storyteller on space travel, political corruption and terrorism in a remarkable adventure that the reader could never forget. As the clock ticks and time moves on, will hope bring new life? Who was controlling the population of Castletown? What did THE PACK sense about the colony led by Lothar and Hunter? Did Leader trust Long Hair and her mate? Where was Max taken to, and did he ever see his wife again? What did Rock's mother teach him? Wonder turns to horror as the ships crash in this electrifying novel, made for the movie screen. "SLINGSHOT" is as terrifying as INDEPENDENCE DAY and as haunting as Steven King's THE LANGOLIERS!

~~~AUTHOR BIO~~~
I was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1953. New Bedford was home to Herman Melville, author of 'MOBY DICK.' I believe that the first paragraph of 'MOBY DICK' is the best first paragraph of any novel I have ever read.
My father moved our family around the country nine times. I spent many good years, and many difficult ones growing up. Both the good and the bad contribute to my writing. While in high school in Bucks County Pennsylvania, I began to gravitate away from academics, and more toward the arts. I went to art school for painting, and later studied at Boston University.
Out of money, I transferred back to Pennsylvania, where I took a job as a cabinet-maker in a small Amish shop. While I earned minimum wage, I learned a valuable trade that would carry me for many years to come. After a year and a half at the cabinet job, I left to finish my schooling. In 1976, I graduated with my teaching degree and taught cabinetry for two years, before starting my own business in mid 1980. During that period, I married and was blessed with a beautiful daughter, and five years later, a beautiful son.
My business went on to grow and prosper, although it had its ups-and-downs, like all small businesses. But after thirty years, it still existed. By the time I sold the business, it had transformed itself from a cabinet shop to a design house, with about twenty employees. We specialized in the design and installation of architectural cabinetry for the entire residence.
The selling process was a tumultuous time for me. It was during that time period that I began to work on my novel, 'GoneAway.' I was not going to undertake the project, but I believe that my family realized that I needed a diversion from the weight of my problems in selling the business, so they prodded me to begin writing, something they all knew that I wanted to do.
I loved the process of writing the very minute I started. 'GoneAway' took three and a half years to complete. It is loosely based on a childhood story I told my children, when they were very young. They never forgot the story, and encouraged me to write it down for posterity. But, I could not write a children's story. It's just not me. My story had to involve more of an adult theme. The process was daunting, but I let it go on, never rushing it, and never feeling as if I was under any kind of a deadline. When it was finished, I had it read by two professional editors, who helped me to polish it up, and get it ready for publication. It took almost a year to find a publisher, but I did. Then, I began to work on my next novel, 'Beneath The Quarry Waters.'
Today, I live with my wife in Pennsylvania. Our two children are grown, and we are proud of them. My children and my wife have been a huge inspiration to me.
5 Star REVIEW~~"SECRET of the SANDS" RAI AREN & TAVIUS E.
MOST HELPFUL REVIEW ON BARNES & NOBLE!
"AN IMPRESSIVE EPIC STORY OF ENDURING APPEAL ACROSS GENERATIONS!"
Mitch and Alex find a mysterious box, while working on a dig near the statue of the Great Sphinx in Egypt, and uncover artifacts that could possibly be the biggest discovery in archaeological history. How could these artifacts exist, and will a mystery be solved, or is there a plan to destroy another society? The students continue their mission with assistance from Bob and Jack to research the significant findings, but do not share any information with the Professor. Did the Professor intend to ruin the lives of Mitch and Alex, so that he could take all the credit? Could the Professor be trusted, and was he jealous? What secret is hidden in the desert sands as the characters come to life, along with ancient civilization? 5 Star REVIEW~~"SHATTERED GLASS" Author AC KATT
AMAZON'S MOST HELPFUL FAVORABLE REVIEW!
"COMPELLING, SUSPENSEFUL, and GRIPPING!"
Milo and Liam knew what they wanted from childhood. Along the road to fame and fortune, the love they shared together grew stronger-and-stronger as their Rock band became more popular. However, little did they know, that the empire they built was soon to be destroyed through vengeance and vicious lies. A psychopath continues to play his deadly game of manipulation on a mission to tear apart a loving relationship, and everything that Liam worked for. The evil, blackmailing stalker wins the dangerous game, but not the war. How long was Milo worried about his image and his secret love affair? How long was Liam unhappy that his secret was locked up in a closet? How long will Liam be tormented physically and mentally, before he can live life once again? How far will Bart go with his unstable mind and twisted personality? Who will survive the abuse, and will life ever be the same for Milo and Liam? This novel is recommended for music loving adults, who enjoy love stories that are provocative and filled with powerful images, with a blend of mystery. AC Katt wrote a dark, compelling story that will leave the reader on the edge of his seat from beginning to end. The spellbinding journey of the lives of the Rock stars and their fatal mistakes takes the reader on an emotional roller-coaster ride through the power of love, horror, and forgiveness. After six years, what will it take to rebuild what Milo and Liam once had? Will revenge, anger, and greed win the battle, or will love blossom in the healing process? "SHATTERED GLASS" is as haunting as THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY, as emotional as the movie AS GOOD AS IT GETS and as powerful as SLEEPERS, with Robert Deniro, and Dustin Hoffman.
5 Star REVIEW~"CHARLENE THE STAR" Author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne
"IRRESISTIBLE FUN, EDUCATIONAL AND INSPIRING!"
When Charlene was born, her mother taught her all about life, and how to live it with happiness and fulfillment. Although Charlene was as beautiful as her big brother, Charlie, they both looked different. Charlie and his mom had black hair, but Charlene had shiny red hair. Charlie had white stockings, but Charlene didn't. As Charlene grew older, she learned that everyone, including her family and friends may look different, but are all unique in their own special way. Born into a family of famous race-horses, Charlene was convinced to follow the footsteps of fame and success in the same path that her family took. However, at a young age, Charlene knew what direction she wanted to go, but it wasn't the same direction that her parents and Charlie took. It was easy for Charlene to follow her dream, but very difficult to confess to her family that racing wasn't her dream or talent, and that she found it boring. Charlene's dream wasn't the same dream that her mother had for her, but her mother was her best friend, and she didn't want to disappoint her. Charlene's mother and her brother taught her that she must attempt to try racing as a test to see how good she would be. Unlike Charlie, Charlene protested with temper tantrums, but fulfilled her duties to make a decision after trying, with respect to her family. Charlene complimented Charlie, Ann, and Blossom for their fine work at Sweetbrier racing stable, knowing her talent was right across the street. Almost everyone that Charlene knew wanted to be a famous racehorse, just like Charlie. But no-one knew that Charlene's talent was quite different, except Charlene, Eva, and Ted. One of the happiest days in Charlene's life was being moved to 'Jumping For Joy Farm.' She finally began to follow her dream to the road of success, but was also away from her family and friends. With Elliot as her companion and new friend, she no longer felt lonely, and was able to focus on her work. Why was Charlene doing crow hops and yawning, while she was supposed to be racing with Ann and Blossom? How did Charlie respond when Charlene told him that she was embarrassed that she was last at the finish line? How did Charlene do at her First Real Jump? I highly recommend this book to children, parents, and teachers. Deanie fills each page with motivation and inspiration. This easy to read children's book is delightful and educational as it teaches young children to reach for the stars, and follow their dreams. The author teaches the young reader how to follow the footsteps of a good role model, and the importance of doing your best, regardless of which career path you choose. More important, with time and patience, our talents will blossom in our special place in the world. Did Elliot's friendship and Mary's praise make Charlene feel proud? How did Charlene do at the Sterling Club? Was number thirteen a lucky number for Charlene? How did Charlene's goals and dreams differ from the dreams Charlie had at her age? Does Charlene become a champion? "CHARLENE THE STAR" is funny, heartwarming, and as entertaining as THE HORSE WHISPERER!
~~AUTHOR BIO~~~
Rai Aren has been in love with reading and storytelling since childhood. She began with her nose in Nancy Drew novels, devouring every book she could get her hands on. She loved them so much that she first tried her hand at writing stories by writing Nancy Drew fan fiction, though she didn't realize at the time that there was a name for it, or that it was a popular past-time for many people. Rai is an avid reader of all kinds of books, and she will often write reviews of books that she loves, whether by NYT bestsellers, or as-yet unknown authors. She enjoys giving credit where credit is due, and is an avid supporter of indie authors. Her 'tbr' pile is currently through the roof!
Rai has been fascinated by ancient Egypt for nearly her entire life. She remembers being introduced to ancient Egyptian culture in Grade 3, and was instantly and permanently captivated.
She was a member of the Society of the Study of Egyptian Antiquities for many years, and has her own personal library of books on this fascinating subject. Rai met her co-author in college, where they spent years together working on projects, and studying for exams. Later on, they found that they shared the same desire to create something fun, memorable and meaningful that would outlive them, an epic story in the form of a novel. After she saw a program on the Discovery Channel, where archaeologists were debating the actual age and origins of the Great Sphinx of Giza, she knew she had found the seed of that story. It became SECRET of the SANDS, which was a labor of love to write. Rai and Tavius E. are working on finalizing the sequel, "DESTINY of the SANDS."
In her spare time, Rai loves to spend time with her family, which includes four very sweet little kitty-cats. Rai also loves to read tons of books;watch movies;go to shows like Cirque du Soleil;have long conversations over dinners with friends and family; go for bike rides and walks in the park; and travel. Rai and her family are vegans, due to their passion for animal rights, and animal welfare. She is also a major science fiction geek, keeping Star Trek and Stargate on the TV as much as her family will allow. She also loves the fan letters that she and Tavius regularly receive, and wants their fans to know how much they mean to them. It inspires her to know how much people have enjoyed 'SECRET of the SANDS' and how eager they are for the sequel. She hopes to one day see both in graphic novel format, and on the big screen in IMAX 3D!
I live in Charlotte, North Carolina, with my wife, Susan. Our son and daughter, thankfully live close by. The beach is my haven, exercise my therapy, being with Susan and the kids is my wish, and writing is my passion. Stories of inspiration and the positive side of life are what intrigue me.
The SLINGSHOT series took nine years to write. After finishing the series, I took a break, and read another good Dean Koontz novel. It was so enjoyable, that I was inspired to write SOON, which is a psychological thriller. Next came BLIND SIGHT, which is also a psychological thriller, and not yet published. Currently, I am deep into a Dumas project. In our family, Dumas has always been a popular author, going back to my father, and forward to my son.
~~~AUTHOR BIO~~~

AC Katt was born in the Greenwich Village Section of New York City, the only child of older parents. Summers were spent eating ice cream in Washington Square Park, playing in the fountain, and listening to the bongo drums and folk guitars, until the family bought a house in New Jersey when she was ten.

After the move, AC found boxes and boxes of novels in the garage and that was it, she became a bibliophile, and so she has remained. She now lives in New Mexico, with her husband and a superior cat, who rules the roost. She started to write when her husband slashed her book budget, and she had to make up her own stories. As of June 2010, she has had three books published: "THE SARRAN PLAGUE, A MATTER OF TRUST, and SHATTERED GLASS."

5 Star REVIEW~"GODS OF THE MACHINES" Author GARY STARTA

"THE HORROR THE CREATURES UNLEASH IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE INTELLECTUAL THRILLS!"

Former Journalist Gary Starta has a love for science fiction, which shines through his writing. Inspired by Issac Asimov, Starta's fascinating imagination explodes page-after-page in this incredible bone-chilling thriller that makes this author a Master storyteller as he gives terror a new name. Prepare yourself for the fright of your life as dread and evil blossom through nail-biting suspense! Detective Sam Benson has no love for androids, becomes obsessed with investigating them, and cannot comprehend why they exist, or the reasons why machines are their gods. The relentless detective in his ruthless behavior, desperately attempts to solve a series of brutal murders, but the pieces to the puzzle are not fitting as Ceres becomes a nightmare that only Gary Starta could create. This novel explores the relationship between man and machine as it sends chills up your spine, while introducing sizzling romance. The CSI is working on the puzzle in unsolved murders as the killers are still on the loose, while new homicides continue to be added to the list as fast as you can blink your eye. Why did Starkman become a suspect, and what did Benson accuse the android of doing? Was Ms. Lopez struck by lightning, and was she guilty of any crimes? Who did Sam trust, why was he so overprotective, and what did he witness during childhood? Suspects continue to multiply as fast as new investigations, while creatures play a grueling game in the dark of night. What kind of government ruling was mandated for Ceres couples, and did most obey? The reader is introduced to forensic examinations, homicidal puzzles, and fright night on an unforgettable flight. What happened to Chen, and Payne? Will a wedding take place as Benson deals with politics, greed, and conspiracy? What happened to Carol Walker, and was Dean a witness, or a suspect? I highly recommend this novel to all thriller and science fiction lovers, who enjoy mystery, with a blend of romance. The story is intelligent, and the suspense is electrifying. Did Sam and Sandra find much more than peace and tranquility on this new planet, and what does it do to their relationship? "GODS OF THE MACHINES" is as haunting as THE AMITYVILLE HORROR and as gripping as DON'T SAY A WORD, with Michael Douglas.

5 Star REVIEW~"CHARLIE THE HORSE" Author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne

"A DELIGHTFUL ADVENTURE!"

Charlie was born in Kentucky, and grew up at Racing Haven Farm. His proud mom nurtured him, taught him what to eat, and showed him where to run. She introduced Charlie to other foals, and General Quick, who was a famous retired racehorse. Charlie wanted to be as famous as his dad, but knew he had to learn about running skills from the General. His best friends were Glory, and Buddy. After running around the pasture with his friends, he gained confidence to reach his goals, and follow his dream. How did Charlie feel when he was informed that he had to leave his mother and friends behind, when it was time to go to the training farm? Who taught Charlie that he had to overcome his fears, and what did he do at Sweetbrier Racing Stable? Did Charlie stay focused with weights on his back, a saddle, and a girth? What did Misty and Kerry teach Charlie, and was he focused? How did Charlie respond to the sound of a loud bell, and did he obey to the commands of cantering, trotting, and galloping? What was the reason for blinkers, and what happened at Delmar Race? At age two, Charlie ran at the Donley Fair Race, was he scared, and did he win? Why did a blacksmith have to take care of Charlie, after this race? Where did Charlie become one of the best racehorses, and what was different about Woodmont Stakes day? Did Charlie ever become a champion, and when did he return home to visit his mother, his new baby sister, and his friends? How many races did Charlie compete in with Buddy? I highly recommend this fascinating book to children, parents, and teachers. The story is educational as Deanie Humphrys-Dunne points to the importance of discipline, confidence, and persistence. The main character Charlie is adorable, talented, and amusing. The author encourages children to work hard at reaching their goals, overcome their fears, and believe in themselves. Did Charlie become another Charles The Great, and did he follow his passion to reach his dream? "CHARLIE THE HORSE" is as entertaining as Little House On The Prairie, and as inspiring as "BLACK BEAUTY."

5 Star REVIEW~"A THIRST FOR WAR" Author Raymond Gustavson

"AMAZON'S MOST HELPFUL FAVORABLE REVIEW!"

"THE STRENGTH TO TRIUMPH OVER AN UNCERTAIN FUTURE WITH HONOR, DECENCY, AND COURAGE!"

John Ulysses Martin had a dream at the age of ten and he finally had the opportunity to fulfill that dream as he marched off to war with his students, while facing the harsh reality of combat as he witnessed the death of his friends, and the cries of the wounded, and dying. What was Professor Martin's motto, before joining the war, and did his opinion change after serving his country? What did John do to earn the rank of Lieutenant, after digging a grave for Curley, while his hands trembled? Did his dream turn into a nightmare of despair, horror, and sorrow? Why did John walk with an awkward gait, and how did he lose the same leg that haunted him since childhood? Where did John meet Lydia, and how important was her father? Who kicked John's students out of the dormitory as Stewart College closed down, leaving John unemployed? Who shot Lady, and what did Haddonfield do to John at the bar? Why was John taken to prison, and what notes did he write in his pocket Bible? Why is the railroad bridge over the Cumberland River at Clarksville, Tennessee, significant to this compelling story? Does Lydia marry Lieutenant Wallace, what happened to her brothers, and how did she react, after John told her that he was joining Lee's army? I highly recommend this action-packed novel to all historical fiction lovers. Raymond Gustavson takes you into the middle of the battlefield and shows you the fight, while defining the brutal realities of war. This incredible story about history illuminates the life of heroism, love, and courage. The author created a Masterpiece, based on the expert knowledge of pre-Civil War, commitment, and sacrifice. This novel is impressive, is a page turner from beginning to end, and is indeed fit for the movie screen. What happened to George, and Smiley? Will the Yankees blame John for the murder of Haddonfield? What happened to Mr. Fred as John prayed for the fighting to cease? Who helps John escape from prison as tension reaches its highest peak, during an era of conflict and slavery as families are torn apart? The story is unforgettable, the characters come to life, and the conclusion is explosive. "A THIRST FOR WAR" is as entertaining as GONE WITH THE WIND, as dramatic as Steven Spielberg's SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, and is as emotional as THE DEER HUNTER, with Robert Deniro.

5 Star REVIEW~"TAILS OF SWEETBRIER" Author Deanie Humphrys-Dunne

"A TRULY SPECTACULAR STORY OF STRENGTH, PASSION, and COURAGE!"

What if you had a dream that you wanted nothing more than to ride horses, but didn't begin to walk until age four? How would you feel as a parent to be told that your child would never be able to walk? How would you feel living on a farm, gazing at beautiful horses everyday, while wishing and praying that you were one of the riders? How would you feel if walking is a difficult task, but you are very eager to ride a horse? A young girl is determined to follow her dream, regardless of the risk involved. Sweetbrier was her life, and her heart was filled with passion to become a champion horseback rider. What did the diagnosis of cerebral palsy mean to one compassionate father, who encouraged his daughter to fight the odds? Are the memories of a sprawling, yellow Victorian house in rolling green pastures a treasure to the children who grew up there, and what adventures will they always remember? How many countless times did Deanie fall off of Little Man, and what did her father do? What code did Deanie use to give Chiefie a carrot when he was in his stall, and did they go to exhibitions together? What happened to Chiefie and Jubilee, after fire broke out in the barn? Does the Humphrys family give up, or do they build a new barn? How old was Holly when she began to ride horses? After surgery, crutches, and the use of a cane, does Deanie ride Peach? Who took First Place in the Reserve Champions at Mrs. Foster's Farm, and who was the rider? I highly recommend this book to children, parents, and teachers. Deanie Humphrys-Dunne wrote a truly spectacular story of strength, passion, and courage. The characters come to life, as well as the unique illustrations. The author points out the value of family and friendship, while motivating others to reach for their dream, despite obstacles that may have to be battled with along the way. Furthermore, Deanie Humphrys-Dunne encourages discipline, high self-esteem, and a positive attitude throughout this compelling story. The author motivates children to overcome their fears, achieve their goals, and follow their dreams. "TAILS OF SWEETBRIER" tugs at the heart, is as captivating as RADIO, and as inspiring as FORREST GUMP, with Tom Hanks.
