The drama becomes intense when Margaret Lexler and her shields find themselves under the spotlight as money is pursued from Tehran to a bloody showdown at the Burnt City. "AN EPIC STORY OF HONOR, LOVE, AND REDEMPTION!"

This intriguing story not only makes the reader crave for more, but is one of those books I had to read twice. I highly recommend this book to all literary fiction lovers, who enjoy stories filled with drama, romance, and redemption. Why does Ramzi Jr. face emotional trauma everyday? "DESTRUCTION, VENGEANCE AND RETRIBUTION FROM A BRUTAL WAR!"

Sam Moffie has managed in his fifth novel to once again reach perfection as he becomes a Master storyteller in "TO KILL THE DUKE!" The author brings the reader to life in the 1950's, the Cold War raging as much as politics and leadership as the characters become unforgettable. Who asked Ivan to witness the highs and lows of Communism? Did the Duke always get his way, was he the King of cowboys, the All-American hero, and was his life in danger? Why did Dick Powell feel empathy for the people he worked with? Did Ivan trust anything bought on the black market, and why did he eat a note written by Alex? Who suffered the most during the Cold War, and in what way does this fascinating story become too close for comfort? I highly recommend this book to all historical fiction lovers, who enjoy interesting stories on a tough subject matter that come to life. Sam Moffie can whip up a Great story made for the Movie screen that includes intense suspense and satire, always leaving a thought-provoking aftermath. "TO KILL THE DUKE" is as patriotic as BRAVEHEART, as entertaining as THE LAST LEGION, and as stunning as CENTURION.

Genre: Action/Adventure in the Middle East

~~~About The Author~~~
Robert Bangor is a pen name of an author of academic studies, and a translator of Persian classics. Born in upper New York State, he grew up on Long Island. After graduating from high school there, he took a job, which ultimately brought him into contact with Pakistanis. This awakened his interest in the Middle East and Islam, and after serving in the army for two years during the Korean War, he elected to attend a college in what was then East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. That experience led him into the newly formed Peace Corps, first in Pakistan, then in Iran in 1964, where he was a staff member.
Leaving full-time work with the Peace Corps, he stayed on in Iran and was accepted in Tehran University in a program of Persian Literature for Foreigners, where he earned his Ph.D. in 1978. This was the same year that most of 'The Burnt City' takes place. He was present in Iran, during the revolution, and the hostage taking.
He left Iran in 1980, and did not return until the late '90s, after his retirement, when he visited old friends there in two successive autumns. The author returned to the Middle East, this time Saudi Arabia in the '80s as an English teacher. He was also called upon to prepare a Persian language course for Arab students. He retired in 1997, and immediately plunged into writing again as well as translating several Persian classics.
 The author had been interested in writing in high school, penning at least two novels that he later destroyed. In Pakistan, he wrote articles, short stories and poetry that were published in local newspapers and magazines. After his return from Iran, he resumed writing a few articles, and drafted two books. 'The Burnt City' was published in 2011, some thirty years after the first draft was written.
~~~About The Author~~~
Ann Gimpel is a mountaineer at heart. Recently retired from a long career as a psychologist, she remembers many hours at her desk, where her body may have been stuck inside four walls, but her soul was planning yet one more trip to the back-country. Around the turn of the last century, that would be 2000, not 1900, she managed to finagle moving to the Eastern Sierra. A mecca for those in love with the mountains. It was during long back-country treks that Ann's writing evolved. Unlike some who see the back-country as an excuse to drag friends and relatives along, Ann prefers her solitude. Stories always run around in her head on those journeys, sometimes as a hedge against abject terror, when challenging conditions made her fear for her life, sometimes for company. Eventually, she returned from a trip, and sat down at the computer. Three months later, a five-hundred page novel emerged. Oh! It wasn't very good, but it was a beginning. She learned a lot between writing that novel, and its sequel.

Around that time, a friend of hers suggested she try her hand at short stories. It didn't take long, before the first story found its way into print, and they have been accepted pretty regular since then. A trilogy, the Transformation Series, featuring PSYCHE'S PROPHECY, PSYCHE'S SEARCH and PSYCHE'S PROMISE is complete.

The initial two books have been published, with the final volume scheduled for release in 2012. One of Ann's passions has always been ecology, so her tales often have a great twist, and the Transformation Series is no exception.

In addition to writing, Ann enjoys wilderness photography. Part of her website is devoted to photos of her beloved Sierra, and she lugs pounds of camera equipment in her backpack to distant locales every year. A standing joke is that over ten percent of her pack is camera gear, which means someone else has to carry the food! That someone else is her husband. They have shared a life together for a very long time. Children, grandchildren, and three wolf hybrids round out their family.
