  1. I'm looking forward to John's new book. To think he was a clerk in the office of the FBI, what stories he must have collected.

  3. To JBarWriter:
The FBI experience was phenomenal. It led me to becoming a journalist. I was actually hired by the City Editor at The Birmingham News after taking a creative writing class from him at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. The story I wrote appeared in the school newspaper, and it was about the FBI. This was a time the KKK was in full throttle, and Martin Luther King, Jr. was assasinated in Memphis. The FBI office in Birmingham was thrown into the mix as the gun James Earl Ray shot King was purchased at a pawn shop in Birmingham. My book does not go into depth about the KKK, but another organization whose members were former KKK members. They trade their white sheets for business suits.
